چکیده
In this paper we analyse static properties of mass spring models (MSMs) with the focus modelling non crystalline materials, and explore basic improvements, which can be made to MSMs disordered point placement. Presented techniques address problem high variance MSM occur due randomised nature distribution. The is placed on tuning parameters in a way would compensate for local non-uniformity density. We demonstrate that simple force balancing algorithm improve global scale, while more detailed stress distribution analysis needed achieve scale improvements. Considered are three dimensional.

A Mass-spring Model for Real Time Deformable Solids
This paper presents a mass-spring model for real-time simulation of volume preserving deformable solids. A new type of springs that show collective behaviour was developed called "support springs", which model the "matter" inside the object and make it preserve its volume without the need of explicit volume computations during the simulation as it is done in conventional methods. Comparing the ...

“Pharmaceutical Solids” discusses scientific principles associated with pharmaceutical solids useful to practitioners in validation and compliance. We intend this column to help the understanding of principles associated with pharmaceutical solids and to be a useful resource for daily work applications. Enhanced process understanding is an important objective of the quality-by-design initiative...

Review copy ± not for distribution (pss-logo will be inserted here by the publisher) pss-‐Header will be provided by the publisher 1 Introduction The continuous random network (CRN) has become the accepted model for homogeneously disordered materials, and for good reason: such atomistic models reproduce the experimentally observed properties of the materials, including some of the finer detail...
متن کاملMesh Topology Identification for Mass-Spring Models
In surgical simulations, the two most popular approaches to model soft tissues are Finite Element Method (FEM) and Mass-Spring System (MSS). Main advantages of FEM are accuracy and realism. Furthermore, the model allows the direct integration of experimentally obtained biomechanical tissue parameters. However, computation times remain high, limiting real-time application of the method. In contr...
متن کاملBreakdown of continuum elasticity in amorphous solids.
We show numerically that the response of simple amorphous solids (elastic networks and particle packings) to a local force dipole is characterized by a lengthscale lc that diverges as unjamming is approached as lc ∼ (z - 2d)(-1/2), where z ≥ 2d is the mean coordination, and d is the spatial dimension, at odds with previous numerical claims. We also show how the magnitude of the lengthscale lc i...
